• First think about which shape suits the occasion. Dinner candles work for table decorations and pillar candles for uncluttered surfaces. Tea lights and floating candles give you lots of small points of light.
• For the material, you can choose between beeswax with its natural scent, low-soot stearin and paraffin.
• Check the length and diameter so the candle fits your holder. Burn time ranges from about 2 hours for a tea light to around 50 hours for larger pillar candles.
• Always place candles on a fireproof surface and never leave them burning unattended.
