The wedding invitations are on the table. Next to them are glue, scissors and cord. And you are still missing that one detail that turns pretty into special. These veneer wooden circles in dark real wood are made for exactly that. They are wafer-thin wooden discs from Ø 1–10 cm. You can stick them onto cards, table decorations and gifts or scatter them around. Scatter or stick on a few circles, and suddenly everything looks lovingly made.

What changes for you

  • You can decorate wedding invitations, Christmas cards or gift tags with real material instead of paper imitations. The circles are made of dark real wood veneer. At only approx. 0.6 mm thick, they lie flat.
  • Your table decorations for a birth, birthday, engagement or Valentine's Day are quick to create. A few discs as table scatter are all you need.
  • You can start gluing, painting, writing or oiling straight away. The wood is untreated and takes paint and glue well.
  • You don't need to finish any edges. Every disc is laser-cut and arrives with smooth, clean edges.
  • You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose from Ø 1 cm for fine card details up to Ø 10 cm for place cards or tags. Each one is cut to size.

Why these wooden circles make a difference

It is often the little things that make a celebration personal. The hand-lettered tag on a guest favour. The table scatter on the wedding table. The handmade detail on the card. Crafting feels different when you hold real wood in your hands. And the result is a decoration that people like to touch and keep. Instead of random mass-produced items, you create something that is visibly made with care.

Material & finish

The wooden circles are made of dark real wood veneer from Makore and Sapele/mahogany. That is where their warm, deep colour and fine grain come from. Each disc is laser-cut to size in Bütic's own production in Pößneck. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. The wood is untreated, not varnished or glazed. So you can glue, paint, coat or oil it as you like. Wood is a purely natural material, so every disc turns out a little different. Some are lighter, some darker, with small irregularities or knots in the grain. This makes each piece one of a kind. It is not a flaw.

How to use the veneer wooden circles

  • When making wedding invitations: stick on a circle and write the names or date on it. Every card gets a natural detail you can feel.
  • On the table for an engagement, birthday or christening: scatter discs in different sizes between candles and flowers. The table instantly looks warm and well planned.
  • When crafting with children: the thin wooden discs are easy to paint and decorate. In the end, the little ones hold their own artwork made of real wood.
  • When making Christmas cards: stick on a dark wooden circle as a bauble or as a background for a star. Your card clearly stands out from shop-bought ones.
  • In a café or at the market: use small circles as tags or as a base for price labels on favours and products. Your goods look lovingly presented, with little effort.

Good to know about veneer

Veneer means wafer-thin sheets of real wood cut from the trunk. Furniture makers in past centuries already used this technique. It let them use valuable woods such as mahogany sparingly on fine furniture. This low thickness is exactly what makes the circles so practical. They lie flat on cards and gifts and are easy to glue. And they still have the real look and feel of wood.

Care & durability

There is not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated discs in a dry place, and they will keep their shape and colour. If you want to bring out the dark grain even more, you can oil the circles or paint them as you like.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the wooden circles? Yes. The veneer is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, pens and glue stick well, and you can oil them too.

How sturdy are the discs at 0.6 mm thick? The circles are deliberately delicate. They are meant for table scatter, cards and craft projects. Thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges, they are easy to work with.

Why do the discs vary in colour and grain? Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, texture and small knots vary from disc to disc. This makes each piece one of a kind.

Where do the wooden circles come from? They are laser-cut to size and made in Thuringia, Germany. They come from our own production in Pößneck.

Veneer and diameter are only the technical side. What counts is the moment your guests open the invitation or stand at the laid table. They can tell that someone made this with love. Just choose the size and quantity that suit your project.
