Your woodworking business runs its combustion system through the whole heating season. You need fuel that is easy to store, stack and top up. These round wood briquettes from joinery offcuts are made for everyday work with an approved commercial combustion system. Shavings and wood dust from wood processing are pressed into compact briquettes and packed tightly in 30 kg boxes. Important first: The briquettes are only permitted in combustion systems of 30 kW or more in woodworking businesses and in systems with a waste wood permit. They are not for private households.

What changes for you

  • You heat with material that would otherwise be thrown away. Shavings and wood dust from wood processing are pressed into compact briquettes. Fuel instead of waste.
  • Your store stays tidy. The tightly packed 30 kg boxes stack neatly on a pallet or a shelf. There is no loose bulk material.
  • You order exactly the amount you need right now. Each box ships as a separate DHL parcel. You don't have to take a whole pallet.
  • You handle your stock without lifting gear. At 30 kg per box, they are easy to move around your premises. You can set them down right next to the system.

Why these wood briquettes make a difference day to day

Loose fuel means dust, lots of space and constant shifting. Pressed briquettes in closed boxes keep your fuel store calm and orderly. Your stock stands neatly stacked and stays cleanly packed. When needed, you take it to the system box by box. This way you plan the heating season with clear quantities instead of heaps in the corner.

Material & finish

The briquettes are made from mixed production offcuts from wood processing. They may contain glued, coated or painted wood, for example chipboard, MDF or plywood panels. For this reason, they may only be burned in combustion systems with a rated thermal output of 30 kW or more in wood processing and woodworking businesses (§ 5(2) of the German 1st BImSchV). Alternatively, they may be burned in systems whose emissions control permit expressly allows waste wood of this kind, such as waste wood or biomass combined heat and power plants. They are not permitted in wood-burning stoves, tiled stoves or other fireplaces in private households. They are also not permitted in ordinary wood, pellet or wood chip heating systems, not even large ones. There is no fuel certificate. Composition, calorific value, residual moisture and ash content have not been tested and may vary from box to box. So please check your system's approval or permit before ordering to make sure it may burn these briquettes.

Dimensions & technical details

  • Contents: 30 kg net per box
  • Shape: round, pressed
  • Raw material: mixed shavings and wood dust from wood processing – may include glued, coated or painted wood
  • Certificate: none – calorific value, residual moisture and ash content not tested, may vary between boxes
  • Packaging: box, approx. 31 kg gross
  • Permitted use: only combustion systems of 30 kW or more in woodworking businesses (§ 5(2) of the German 1st BImSchV) or systems with an express waste wood permit

How to use the wood briquettes

  • In the workshop hall of your woodworking business: You top up your combustion system of 30 kW or more box by box. The hall stays warm, and you don't have to shovel loose material.
  • In a combined heat and power plant with a waste wood permit: The compact, pressed shape adds to your fuel mix. The 30 kg boxes make it easy to dose and record quantities.
  • Before the heating season: You stack the closed boxes on a pallet in a dry place. Your stock is ready to hand and protected until you need it.

Good to know about wood briquettes from production offcuts

There is a simple reason why wood processing offcuts can't go into just any stove. They may contain glue, coatings or paint. That is why the German 1st BImSchV only allows them to be burned under clear conditions. Examples are combustion systems of 30 kW or more in woodworking businesses or specially permitted waste wood plants. That is exactly what these briquettes are for: fuel where the approval expressly allows it.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Store the briquettes in a dry place, protected from moisture. Ideally keep them in the closed box on a pallet or shelf, not directly on a cold floor. Pressed briquettes absorb water and swell. Stored dry, they keep their shape and stay ready to use.

Options & what's included

  • 1 box with 30 kg wood briquettes net (approx. 31 kg gross)
  • Each box ships as a separate DHL parcel – if you order several boxes or other items, you will receive several parcels
  • Order from Bütic by the box, no need to take a full pallet

Frequently asked questions

Can I burn the briquettes in my wood-burning stove at home? No. The raw material may contain glued, coated or painted wood. The briquettes are not permitted in fireplaces in private households.

Which systems may burn the briquettes? Combustion systems with a rated thermal output of 30 kW or more in wood processing and woodworking businesses (§ 5(2) of the German 1st BImSchV). Also systems whose permit expressly allows the use of waste wood of this kind, for example waste wood or biomass combined heat and power plants. Please check this against your approval or permit before ordering.

Is there a fuel certificate or tested calorific values? No. Composition, calorific value, residual moisture and ash content have not been tested and may vary from box to box.

How should I store the briquettes? Dry and protected from moisture, ideally in the closed box on a pallet or shelf. Otherwise pressed briquettes absorb water and swell.

How are the boxes delivered? Each 30 kg box ships as a separate DHL parcel. If you order several boxes, you will receive several parcels.

What you get from a box of briquettes is practical. Your system runs evenly. Your fuel store is tidy. Production offcuts become reliable heat. Quickly check your system's approval. Then simply order the number of boxes you need for the season.
