Autumn is coming and the cabbage is ready. You want to make your own sauerkraut again, just as it used to be done. With a wooden cabbage slicer, you shred white cabbage, red cabbage and other vegetables evenly and finely. It works for large quantities too, and needs no electricity at all. Made for your preserving season: a wooden cabbage slicer in the traditional shape that will serve you for years.

What changes for you

  • You can slice even several heads of cabbage quickly and evenly – thanks to the sharp, screw-fitted blades and, depending on the model, 2, 3 or 4 blades.
  • Your sauerkraut slicer stays ready to use instead of lying blunt in the cupboard. The blades are screwed on, so you can simply remove and resharpen them when needed.
  • You can cut cucumbers, Spanish onions and other vegetables into evenly thin slices. One slicer for cabbage, cucumbers and onions.
  • You can work safely and comfortably with the larger models – the carriage guides the vegetables over the blades without your fingers coming anywhere near them.
  • You can prepare food with peace of mind – the wood is completely natural, untreated and food-safe.

Why this cabbage slicer makes a difference every day

A wooden vegetable slicer changes the way you handle larger quantities: instead of laboriously cutting with a knife, you draw the cabbage over the blades in smooth, steady strokes – and watch the bowl fill up. It feels like real handcraft, yet it's much quicker. And because the slicer is made of solid wood, it sits firmly and steadily, even when you work with plenty of momentum.

Material & finish

The light, sanded surface is very smooth. Vegetables glide over it cleanly, and the slicer is easy to clean. It is untreated and food-safe, just as it should be for the kitchen. The blades are screwed on rather than riveted. This makes resharpening easy and the slicer long-lasting. It is made in the EU. Wood is a natural product, so every surface turns out a little differently. You may see varying shades, a lively grain and the occasional small knot. Each piece is unique – this is not a defect.

How to use your cabbage slicer

  • For a quick salad: a few strokes over the slicer and your cucumbers or onions are in the bowl in evenly thin slices.
  • In restaurants or commercial kitchens, the long models with carriage process large quantities of white and red cabbage quickly and evenly. No electricity, no machine set-up.
  • On the farm or at a market stall: freshly sliced cabbage right in front of your customers – traditional craftsmanship that builds trust.

Good to know about sauerkraut

Sauerkraut is made without any vinegar. It comes purely from lactic acid fermentation of cabbage and salt. The finer and more evenly the cabbage is sliced, the more juice is released when you pound it. And the more reliably the fermentation works. That is exactly why many people prefer a classic sauerkraut slicer to a kitchen knife.

Care & durability

There's not much to it: after use, simply wipe the slicer with a slightly damp cloth – done. Avoid the dishwasher and longer soaking, and the untreated wood will keep its smooth surface for many years. If the blades go blunt after long use, unscrew them and resharpen them – so your slicer stays ready to use for a lifetime.
