The pizza comes out of the oven piping hot, your guests are already at the table – and now it should look good too. With a beech pizza board with recessed grip, you serve pizza, tarte flambée or onion tart straight on warm, natural wood, as if made for your pizza night. The recessed grip lets you carry the board safely from the oven to the table, and the cutting happens right where everyone eats.

What changes for you

  • You serve pizza and tarte flambée straight from the board – because the smooth-sanded beech surface works as both a chopping and a serving board.
  • You can carry even the large 60 cm pizza safely to the table, thanks to the built-in recessed grip.
  • Your table instantly looks more inviting, with no extra crockery needed – the light beech wood brings its natural charm along with it.
  • You can cut without the board warping – the edge-glued beech gives it excellent dimensional stability.
  • You'll find the right size for every gathering, from a single pizza to family size – five diameters from 35 to 60 cm to choose from.

Why this pizza board makes a difference every day

A tarte flambée on light beech wood simply looks like more than it does on a plate. The food takes centre stage. The light wood tone and the round shape frame it at the table. You no longer need to move it from the baking tray onto platters, and you cut it right at the table. Hosting hardly gets more relaxed. On a buffet or counter, too, the round board presents oven-baked dishes with care and in good order.

Material & finish

The pizza board is made of stave-glued beech wood. This construction keeps it stable in shape and durable, even with regular use. The light, smoothly sanded surface feels pleasant in your hand and is easy to wipe clean. The neat finish is visible even up close. Wood is a purely natural material. Every grain pattern turns out differently. Colour and texture vary slightly, and small knots may occur. This is not a flaw. It makes every board one of a kind.

How to use your pizza board

  • Pizza night with friends: the pizza arrives at the table right on the wooden board, everyone cuts their own slice – and you've got no extra crockery to clear away.
  • Tarte flambée or onion tart in autumn: on light beech wood, the crispy bake looks twice as appetising.
  • For cheese-topped toasts and other oven dishes: you get a sturdy surface for arranging and cutting in one.
  • In restaurants, pizzerias or cafés: the choice of sizes from 35 to 60 cm covers everything from single portions to family pizzas. The matching boards give a neat, uniform presentation when you serve your guests.
  • On a buffet or for catering: rustic wooden boards as a serving surface – quick to set up and attractive without any extra decoration.

Good to know about tarte flambée

Tarte flambée (Flammkuchen) comes from Alsace: bakers there would slide the thin dough into the still-flaming wood-fired oven to test the heat – hence its name. To this day it is traditionally served on a wooden board, and with this beech board you bring exactly that tradition to your own table.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: simply wipe the board with a damp cloth after use and let it dry. It doesn't belong in the dishwasher – constant moisture would harm the wood. That way your pizza board keeps its smooth surface and light, natural look for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can the pizza board go in the dishwasher? No. Clean it only with a damp cloth – that way the beech wood keeps its good looks for a long time.

Does every board look the same? No, wood is a purely natural material. Colour, grain and small knots vary – every board is one of a kind.

Can I cut directly on the board? Yes. The smooth-sanded, 2 cm thick surface made from edge-glued beech is designed as a chopping and serving board and keeps its shape.

Are the dimensions exact? They are approximate; the diameter may differ slightly due to production.

In the end, it isn't about a beech board. It's about the moment the hot pizza arrives at the table on the wood and everyone wants to dig in before you've even cut it. Simply choose the size that suits your gathering – at Bütic you'll find five diameters from 35 to 60 cm.
