The candle arch is in the window, and the pyramid is waiting for its first outing. Only the tealights still wobble in their holes. This brass-coloured tealight holder gives every candle a firm, neat place. The tealight cup is made in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge). It holds standard tealights up to 40 mm in diameter. It turns a simple hole drilled in wood into a cosy light. Just right for your craft workshop.

What changes for you

  • Your tea light sits securely and doesn't wobble, because the inner diameter of approx. 40 mm is matched precisely to standard tea light candles.
  • Your fitting looks neat straight away, because the rim of approx. 3 mm all the way round completely covers the drilled edge in the wood.
  • You keep your candle holder clean, because the inner height of approx. 17 mm takes the whole tealight, so wax residue stays in the cup.
  • You stay flexible when fitting it, because the cup can either sit flush on the surface (hole approx. 42 mm) or be pressed in firmly (hole approx. 41 mm).
  • Your Christmas decorations look all of a piece. The brass tone fits in with candle arches, pyramids and lanterns.

Why this tealight cup makes a difference every day

A candle that stands safe and straight in its holder gives any candle arch a calm, cared-for look, with no slipping tealights and no wax stains on the wood. You can swap burnt-out candles in seconds, and your home-made candle holder looks as if it came in one piece. That leaves more time on winter evenings for the cosy moments and less for fiddling.

Material & finish

The cup is made of tinplate with a brass-coloured lacquer finish. This gives it a golden shine at a low weight. Careful German manufacturing in the Ore Mountains ensures even edges and an exact fit in the drilled hole. Please note: the material is not rust-proof. The cup is therefore intended for dry indoor spaces. It is not suitable for outdoor use.

How to use the tealight cup

  • In a candle arch or pyramid: replace old inserts or fit new ones, and your tealights stand securely, are easy to change and burn down evenly.
  • When making your own wooden candle holders: drill the hole, then press the cup in or simply sit it on top. The rim hides the edge and your piece looks shop-bought.
  • On the table: a lantern with a tealight cup at a simple supper on a winter evening, and the whole evening instantly takes on a warm, calm glow.
  • In cafés and restaurants: sturdy, neatly made inserts in larger quantities. Tables are decorated quickly. Candles are changed fast. And no wax ends up on the table decoration.

Good to know about candle arches

The candle arch, known in the Ore Mountains as a Schwibbogen, goes back to the region's mining tradition: the lights in the window stood for the miners' longing for daylight. These cups are made right where this tradition is at home, so they suit candle arches and pyramids not only technically but by their origin too.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: only use the cup in dry indoor spaces, as the tinplate is not rustproof, and the brass-coloured shine will last a long time. Simply let any wax residue harden, then lift it out of the cup without harming your candle holder.
