Spring is on its way, and you'd like to bring it indoors. On the window, on the table, by the front door. This blue wooden dragonfly lands exactly where you want it. It's made for your spring decorations, in the size that suits your idea. Use it as a small table scatter or as a large dragonfly with a 50 cm wingspan. It's your choice.

What changes for you

  • Your decorations look fresh and springlike straight away. Depending on the light, the bright blue stain even lets the natural wood grain show through.
  • You can craft with children. The stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
  • You get exactly the size you need. Choose a wingspan from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • No tedious finishing work for you. The dragonfly is laser cut and arrives with smooth edges and a precise cut.
  • The back gives you free space for your own ideas. It is left natural and untreated. You can paint it, write on it or stick things on it.

Why this wooden dragonfly makes a difference every day

Ready-made decorations off the shelf often look generic. A cutout made of real wood brings a natural material into your designs. The dragonfly looks calm rather than loud. Use it on the windowsill, as a gift or in a table decoration. No two pieces of wood grow the same. So you always end up holding a piece that exists only once.

Material & finish

The dragonfly is made of 3 mm poplar plywood. It is laser cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This is where the typical brown edge comes from, which gives the shape a fine outline. The front has a blue stain. The back is deliberately left natural. Wood is a purely natural material. Differences in shade, small knots and patterns in the grain are not flaws. They make every piece unique.

How to use the wooden dragonfly

  • Crafting with children at the kitchen table: the natural back gets painted or decorated. At the end, every child takes their own dragonfly home.
  • For spring decorations in the window: hang a few small dragonflies on fine threads. The room immediately feels lighter and friendlier.
  • On gifts and cards: stick on a 3 cm dragonfly as decoration. A plain wrapping becomes a lovingly designed greeting.
  • In a shop window, café or market stall: a large dragonfly with up to 50 cm wingspan shows your customers spring from a distance. It's quick to put up and easy to change.
  • For table decorations at christenings, birthdays or garden parties: put a dragonfly at every place. Your guests have something to discover as soon as they sit down.

Good to know about the dragonfly

The name of the dragonfly in German, “Libelle”, goes back to the Latin word “libella”, meaning small balance or level. It refers to the horizontal position of the wings. This gives the insect its calm, balanced appearance. This lightness makes the dragonfly a popular motif for spring and summer decorations, garden parties and nature-themed gift ideas.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry, soft cloth. As the back is untreated, keep the dragonfly away from constant moisture. That way it keeps its shape, and the blue front keeps its fresh colour for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Does the blue stain meet safety standards? Yes, the stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3. This also applies to crafting with children.

Is the dragonfly stained on both sides? No, only the front is stained blue. The back is left natural and untreated. That's ideal if you want to paint or decorate it yourself.

Why does the dragonfly have a brown edge? The cutout is laser cut. This creates the typical brown edge. The laser also ensures smooth edges and a precise cut.

Does every dragonfly look the same? The shape is always precise. But wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary. That is exactly what makes every piece unique.

This is more than a wooden cutout. It's the moment the first dragonflies hang in your window and spring arrives in your home. Just choose your size and quantity. Your imagination will do the rest.
