Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. An afternoon at the craft table: the paints are ready and the children pick their shapes. You place the outline of Bremen in front of you. The MDF cutout Bremen is a basic shape that you turn into something of your own. Paint it, stick things on it or write on it – it's made for your next project. Whether it's for a wooden map of Germany, a school project or a greeting to the Hanseatic city, the shape gives you the starting point. You design the rest.
What changes for you
- You can start straight away without any sawing. The outline of the state of Bremen is already laser-cut and has clean, smooth edges.
- Your shape takes paint, glue or napkin decoupage directly. The fibreboard is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed.
- You choose exactly the size that suits your project. Widths range from 5 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps.
- Order for a single gift or for a whole school class. Buy them individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your map of Germany stays consistent. At Bütic, all the federal states are available in the same material and in matching sizes.
Why this MDF cutout makes a difference in everyday life
A ready-cut shape takes care of the hardest part for you: precisely sawing out fine outlines. You can focus on the fun part – designing, painting and decorating. When crafting with children, this helps everyone stay patient. In class or at a craft session, everyone holds the same clean basic shape. The result looks well planned, not pieced together.
Material & finish
The cutout is made from 3 mm thick high-density fibreboard (HDF/MDF). The laser cut leaves the edges smooth. You can pick up the shape and work with it straight away. The surface is left natural and reliably takes paint, varnish or glue. As is usual with pressed wood fibres, the fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This is not a defect – it makes every piece unique. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the Bremen cutout
- For a map of Germany with all the federal states: combine Bremen with the other state outlines. Piece by piece, a wooden map takes shape on your wall and makes every visitor stop and look.
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own shape. In the end, a small work of art hangs on the fridge instead of ending up in the bin.
- In a school project: the class works through the federal states. With outlines they can hold, the geography sticks better than on a worksheet.
- As a money gift or small present: stick a folded banknote or a short message onto the outline. An envelope becomes a keepsake of the Hanseatic city.
- In a shop or café with a link to Bremen: painted outlines on the counter or in the shop window make your regional connection easy to recognise. They're quick to put up and need little effort.
- In model making: the thin, dimensionally stable board fits into dioramas and baseboards. It's cleanly cut, with no need to finish the edges.
Good to know about Bremen
Bremen is Germany's smallest federal state. As a Free Hanseatic City, it is known far beyond the region – not least thanks to the Town Musicians of Bremen from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. That makes the outline a popular motif. Use it as a keepsake for people who have moved away, as a small gift with a local link or as part of a complete map of Germany.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated cutout in a dry place. It will then keep its shape, and the surface will still take paint and glue well. Avoid constant moisture. You can protect and design the surface as you like with paint or a glaze.

Frequently asked questions
Is the cutout already painted or varnished? No, the board is untreated and in its natural finish. You can paint it, stick things on it or decorate it however you like.
How tall is the outline at a given width? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 8 cm. Height and width increase in the same proportion.
Why does the surface look slightly different on each piece? HDF boards are made of pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small impurities. This is exactly what makes each piece unique.
Can I return the item? No. The cutout is made for you after purchase in the size you ordered. It is therefore excluded from exchange.
A simple fibreboard shape becomes your very own piece of Bremen. Paint it, give it away or hang it on the wall as part of your map of Germany. Just choose your size and get started.
