Material & finish

The star is made of 3 mm birch plywood from Bütic's own production in Pößneck. We flame-treat the raw sheets there ourselves in an elaborate process. This creates the rustic look, with the grain and small knots still visible. A clear, water-based satin-matt lacquer is applied to both sides. It protects the surface and feels pleasantly smooth. Laser cutting gives clean, precise edges. Wood is a purely natural product. Differences in shade, texture and small inclusions in the grain are not flaws. They make every piece unique.
