The square is made of 3 mm birch plywood and laser-cut. This gives smooth edges and clean, precise results. We lacquer the raw sheets in colour on both sides ourselves, in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. The water-based satin lacquer lets the wood grain and knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. Some pieces are lighter, some darker, and the grain shows small irregularities. That isn't a flaw. It's exactly what makes every piece one of a kind.
