Every bat is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck. This gives smooth, precise edges and clean workmanship. The front is colour-stained. Depending on the light, the wood grain and small knots can show through the stain. That is exactly what makes it appealing. Wood is a natural material, and every bat is unique with its own texture. This is not a flaw, it is character. The back is left natural and untreated, ideal for painting.

Is the back stained too? No, only the front is colour-stained. The back is left natural and untreated. That is ideal if you want to paint it yourself.

Can I paint or decorate the bats? Yes. The untreated back in particular is well suited to painting, sticking things on and decorating. This works well when crafting with children, too.

Why do the bats have a brown edge? The shapes are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It is part of the cutting process and frames each figure like a fine outline.
