- Your lettering looks handmade rather than generic. The flowing Anatawa script and the typical brown laser edge give every letter character.

Why these veneer letters make a difference in everyday life
A name or a word in real wood changes how a room feels. The door becomes more personal. The gift tells a story before it's even unwrapped. The wall gets something calm and natural. Because the veneer is so thin, the lettering never looks bulky. It looks as if it has always belonged there. A few letters become a piece of home.
Material & finish
Each letter is made of dark real wood veneer and laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. The edges are clean, with the typical brown rim that gives each letter a fine outline. The wood is left natural, so you can cover, paint or oil it as you wish. Grain and shade vary slightly from letter to letter. This is not a flaw. It makes every letter one of a kind.

- On a wedding or new baby gift: a name or date in veneer on the wrapping – and the gift feels personal before it's opened.
- In a shop or café: lettering on a shelf or counter – and your guests see at a glance what to expect, without elaborate signage.
- For furniture upcycling: a word on a chest of drawers or key rack – and a simple piece becomes one of a kind.
- Our tip for dates and signs: Combine the thin veneer letters with matching numbers from our other listings. That way you can also make birth dates, years or door signs – for example on furniture, doors or gifts.
Good to know about veneer
Veneer – thin sheets of real wood – has been valued in furniture making for centuries. It shows the natural grain and is easy to attach to smooth surfaces. That's exactly what you get with these letters. At only around 0.6 mm thick, you can stick them almost anywhere solid wood would be too thick and too heavy.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the letters dry and they'll keep their natural look for a long time. If you'd like to protect them or change their colour, you can simply oil, paint or varnish the untreated wood.

Frequently asked questions
Why is a lower-case letter not as tall as the size I chose? The chosen height applies to capital letters. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale, just as they are designed in the font. An example from the Arial font at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm tall, the lower-case a is 7.3 cm and the lower-case h is 9.7 cm. The lower-case g is 10 cm tall but reaches around 2.6 cm below the baseline. In script fonts, lower-case letters are often a little smaller still.
Can I paint or cover the letters? Yes. The wood is left natural and can be covered, painted or oiled – just as your design idea needs.
Where does the brown edge on the letters come from? The letters are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge that gives the letters their fine outline.
Are there numbers and special characters too? Yes, you'll find matching wooden numbers and special characters in our other listings. They work well for birth dates, years or door signs.
How do I attach the letters? You can glue or drill the letters and use them for all kinds of decorating. Because they are only approx. 0.6 mm thick, they also hold well on smooth surfaces.
These letters are made for a special moment. Your child discovers their name on their own door. Or someone holds a gift with their name on it. Simply choose your letters and size, and put together your own text.
