Your child's name on their bedroom door, a saying on the kitchen shelf or a short word on a gift box. With these cursive letters in dark real wood veneer, you put together your own text. Letter by letter, in exactly the size you want. The flowing Magnolia Plantation font looks handwritten. It is made for your walls at home.

What changes for you

  • You design names, sayings and single words freely. Each letter is made individually, and you can combine capitals and lower-case letters however you like.
  • Your lettering shows real wood grain instead of a printed look. The Macore or Sapelli/mahogany veneer is left untreated. It is neither painted nor oiled.
  • You can attach the letters easily. At around 0.6 mm thick, the veneer is simple to glue onto wood, paper, boxes or furniture.
  • Even the delicate flourishes of the cursive script come out cleanly. Every letter is finely laser cut.
  • You'll find the right size for every project. You can choose from four heights between 5 and 20 cm.

Why these cursive letters make a difference in everyday life

Lettering made of real wood changes how a room or gift looks straight away. Instead of printed decor, you have something with a natural surface, a dark tone and a personal message. You decide on the text and size yourself. So the result fits your home, not the other way round. And because the letters are so delicate, they blend in quietly and never look overbearing.

Material & finish

The letters are made of real wood veneer in Macore or Sapelli/mahogany. That's where the warm, dark tone comes from. The wood stays in its natural state, with no paint and no oil. This keeps the fine grain visible. Colour shades and grain patterns vary from sheet to sheet. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece unique. The letters are laser cut and made individually in Bütic's own production in Pößneck. The edges are clean, right down to the fine lines of the script.

Dimensions & technical details

  • Material: real wood veneer Macore, Sapelli/mahogany (dark)
  • Thickness: approx. 0.6 mm – very thin
  • Font: Magnolia Plantation (cursive script with flourishes)
  • Choice of height: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm or 20 cm (based on capital letters)
  • Some capital letters have flourishes that extend beyond the chosen height
  • Lower-case letters are smaller due to the font
  • Surface: natural, not painted or oiled
  • Each letter is made and supplied individually

How to use the veneer letters

  • In the nursery: your child's name on the door – and a room visibly becomes their room.
  • On gifts: a single letter or a short word on the wrapping. Even before it's unwrapped, it's clear that someone chose with care.
  • At weddings: the couple's names above the guest table. Lettering in real wood that goes home with them afterwards as a keepsake.
  • In a shop or café: wooden lettering on the counter or shelf. Your goods are lovingly presented, without you having to redecorate every day.
  • For crafts: glued onto cards, albums or wooden boxes. The thin veneer barely adds any thickness and visibly lifts every project.

Good to know about wood veneer

Veneers are wafer-thin sheets of real wood. Cabinetmakers have used this technique for centuries to use fine woods sparingly and over large surfaces. That's exactly what you benefit from here. You get the look and grain of a dark fine hardwood. Yet you can work with the letters and glue them on almost as easily as paper.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Simply keep the untreated letters dry and protect them from constant moisture. This way the colour and grain last a long time. When working with them, handle them gently because of the fine 0.6 mm thickness. This is especially true for the delicate flourishes.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't a lower-case letter as tall as the size I chose? The height you choose refers to the capital letters. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale as they are designed in the font. So they turn out smaller. For comparison, take the Arial font at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm tall, the lower-case a is 7.3 cm and the lower-case h is 9.7 cm. The lower-case g is 10 cm tall but extends around 2.6 cm below the baseline. In cursive fonts, lower-case letters are often a little smaller still.

Which size should I order for a whole word? Order all the letters of a word in the same size, even if it starts with a capital letter. That way the capitals and lower-case letters match in the lettering.

Is the wood treated? No, the letters are in their natural state, neither painted nor oiled. This keeps the fine grain of the real wood visible.

How do I attach the letters? You can simply glue the letters on and use them for all kinds of decorations. The thin veneer lies flat on the surface.

Do some letters extend beyond the chosen height? Yes, some capital letters have flourishes that go beyond the selectable height. This is part of the character of the Magnolia Plantation cursive font.

Veneer thickness and fonts are just the details. What counts is the moment your child spots their name on the door. Or when someone holds a gift with exactly their word on it. Simply choose your letters and the right height.

Sellers in such a situation are required to offer free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
