What changes for you
- You don't need to prime it, because the front is already glazed yellow. Unpack it, hang it up or keep decorating.
- You can craft with the star together with children, as the glaze meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
- Your decorations look consistent, because every star is laser-cut. This gives it smooth edges and a precise shape.
- You'll find the right size for every project. The star is available from 3 cm to 50 cm in height, in 1 cm steps.
- You can design the back just the way you like. It is natural and untreated – ideal for painting, writing on or sticking things to.
Why this 8-point star makes a difference in everyday life
An eight-pointed star makes a room look festive straight away – with very little effort from you. The yellow catches the eye in the window, on a branch or on the laid table. Depending on the light, the wood grain still shows through the glaze. So the decoration looks natural rather than artificial. In just a few steps, you have a decoration that looks lovingly made.
Material & finish
The star is made of 3 mm plywood. It is light and comfortable to hold, and easy to handle for small hands too. Laser cutting creates smooth, precise edges with the typical brown rim. This rim gives each eight-pointed star a finely drawn outline. The yellow glaze is applied with care. Depending on the light, it lets the wood grain and small knots show through. Wood is a natural material, and these differences make every piece one of a kind. The star is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use your wooden star
- On a crafting afternoon: the children paint the natural back – and each star becomes a little one-off for the Christmas tree.
- In the window: hang several stars in different sizes on threads – and the warm yellow catches the eye of everyone passing by.
- On a present: write a name on a small star and use it instead of a gift tag – the parcel then carries the recipient's name directly.
- At nursery or school: the glaze meets DIN EN 71-3, so whole groups can craft with it. With sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, there's enough for everyone.
- In a café or shop: place stars in the window display or around the counter. They're set up in a few minutes and stay clearly visible all season.
Good to know about the 8-point star
The 8-point star has a long tradition. In Christian art, the Star of Bethlehem is often shown with eight points. The number eight has long stood for new beginnings. So the eight-pointed star suits not only Advent and Christmas decorations. It also fits christenings, births and any occasion where something new begins.
Care & durability
There's not much to do: a dry cloth is enough to remove dust. As the back is untreated, the star lasts longest indoors in a dry place. Avoid constant moisture, and the yellow surface will stay looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the glaze suitable for children? Yes, the yellow glaze meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3. This makes the star suitable for craft projects with children too.
Are both sides yellow? No, only the front is glazed. The back is left natural and untreated – ideal if you want to paint or write on it yourself.
Why does the star have a brown edge? The star is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim along the edges. It gives a clean outline and is part of the production process.
Does every star look the same? The laser cut makes the shape and size precise. As wood is a natural material, the shade, grain and small knots can vary. Every piece is one of a kind.
Can the star be used outdoors? The back is untreated. We therefore recommend using it indoors in a dry place, or in a sheltered, dry spot.
This is more than a wooden cutout. It's the moment your self-decorated star hangs in the window and makes your home a little more festive. Just choose your size and quantity – and get started.
