Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is set with paints, brushes and ideas. Only the right base shape is missing. This Reuleaux triangle made of HDF is made for exactly that. It is a laser-cut cutout with smooth edges. You can paint it, glue things onto it or decorate it straight away. Small hanging ornaments or large wall decorations: simply choose the size that suits your project.
What changes for you
- You can get started straight away, with no sanding or cutting. The Reuleaux triangle is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- You can design it just the way you like. The HDF is untreated and takes paint, glue or oil evenly.
- You'll find the right size for every project: from 3 cm to 50 cm, available in 1 cm steps.
- You get a shape with more to it than a simple triangle. The curved sides of the Reuleaux triangle look softer and more modern than straight edges.
- You're working with a neatly made cutout from Bütic's own production in Pößneck. It's made in Thuringia, with reliable workmanship.
Why this Reuleaux triangle makes a difference in everyday use
A good base shape decides how relaxed a crafting afternoon will be. Instead of fiddling with a saw and sandpaper, you hold a finished surface in your hands. It's just waiting for your design. That leaves more time for the actual crafting – on your own, with children or in a group. And the result looks neat right from the start.
Material & finish
The Reuleaux triangle is made of 3 mm thick HDF and is laser-cut. This gives it smooth edges with the typical brown laser edge. This edge is a hallmark of laser cutting, and you can easily cover it when painting. The surface is left natural. It is neither varnished nor glazed, so it is well suited to painting, gluing and oiling. Wood is a purely natural material. Small differences in texture and shade are part of it and make every piece one of a kind. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.

How to use the Reuleaux triangle
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own Reuleaux triangle. At the end, a colourful garland of little works of art hangs in the room.
- For DIY Christmas decorations: paint several small sizes, then hang them up or stick them on. Your tree or window gets handmade decorations.
- For gifts of money: write on a Reuleaux triangle and attach a banknote. An envelope turns into a lovingly designed gift.
- As wall or table decoration: paint large shapes in your chosen colour and combine them. This gives you a calm, geometric wall design at home.
- In a shop or café: write on it to make a small price tag or sign. Quick to design and with a uniform look.
Good to know about the shape of constant width
A curve of constant width has the same width in every direction. The best known is the Reuleaux triangle. That's why it rolls as smoothly as a circle, even though it looks angular. This special feature makes the shape more than decoration. It also works as a hands-on craft object for school, nursery or curious tinkerers.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated HDF dry and avoid constant moisture. Then the surface stays smooth and keeps its shape. A coat of paint or oil gives the surface extra protection. That way your finished piece will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the Reuleaux triangle straight away? Yes. The HDF is untreated. You can paint, glue or oil it without any preparation.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? That's the typical laser edge that forms during cutting. It's part of the cutting method. You can simply paint over it when you decorate.
Do I still need to sand the edges? No. Thanks to the laser cut, the edges are smooth and ready to use.
Does every piece look the same? The shape and dimensions are the same. Small differences in the texture and shade of the material are possible. Wood is a natural product, and that's exactly what makes every piece unique.
A plain shape becomes your idea. Painted, decorated and exactly the way you imagined it. Just choose your size and get started.
