Why golden wooden Easter eggs make a difference in everyday life
Glittery plastic decorations are everywhere. An Easter egg made of real wood with a golden surface feels different and looks different too. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots show through the glaze. That is what gives it its calm, natural look. Your decorations look lovingly made rather than bought. That goes for the festive table as well as the Easter tree or a shop window.
Material & finish
Each Easter egg is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives smooth edges and an accurate shape, with no sharp burrs. The gold glaze on the front is applied with care and meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3. The back stays natural and untreated. You can paint it, write on it or stick things to it. Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece, so every egg is unique. The cutouts are made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the golden Easter eggs
- On the Easter table: Scatter a few small eggs between plates and candles. Your guests will spot the first golden wooden eggs as they take their seats.
- Making cards: Glue a 2 or 3 cm egg onto your Easter card. A simple greeting becomes a little gift.
- On an Easter wreath or Easter tree: Combine several sizes. The wreath on your door gets depth and a festive shine.
- On gifts: Tie a golden egg to the ribbon or place it on the parcel. Your Easter gift looks lovingly wrapped with little effort.
- In cafés, bakeries or at market stalls: As table scatter on the counter or in the display, the eggs are quick to lay out and quick to put away. Your Easter range catches the eye straight away.
- For painting and decorating: Use the natural back as a craft surface for children or for crafting together. Each egg becomes a small work of art of its own.
Good to know about the golden egg
The golden egg has long stood for luck and for something especially precious. Just think of the fable of the goose that lays golden eggs. At the same time, the egg is the classic Easter symbol of new beginnings and life. Together, this makes the golden cutouts a decoration that suits Easter just as well as small good-luck wishes and spring gifts.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do: Keep the eggs dry and wipe them with a soft, dry cloth when needed. Avoid constant damp and wet, as the back is untreated. That way the cutouts keep their shine for many Easters.

Frequently asked questions
Why do the eggs have a brown edge? The cutouts are laser-cut. The fine brown edge forms naturally in the process and is part of their typical look.
Are both sides gold? No, only the front has a gold glaze. The back is natural and untreated – ideal for painting or sticking things on.
Does the glaze meet safety standards? Yes, the gold glaze meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
Do all the eggs look the same? Not quite. Wood is a natural material, so brightness, grain and small knots can vary. Depending on the light, the texture shows through the glaze. This makes every egg unique.
Can I paint the eggs? Yes, the untreated back in particular is well suited to painting, writing on and decorating.
Plywood and glaze are just the material. What really counts is the moment your family sits at the Easter table and the gold gently shimmers in the candlelight. Just choose your size and set quantity. Easter will take care of the rest.
