Why this shooting star makes a difference every day
A gold shooting star catches the light – in the window, on a fir branch or above the shop counter it looks festive without being over the top. Because the wood grain shimmers through the gold glaze depending on the light, the warm character of the natural material still comes through. The result is a decoration that looks elegant yet still feels like home.
Material & finish
Each shooting star is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck. This gives smooth edges and an accurate shape. It also leaves the typical fine brown edge, which gives the motif extra outline. The golden glaze on the front is carefully applied. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots show through. This is not a flaw but the mark of a genuine natural material. Every piece is one of a kind. The back is left untreated and natural, so you can decorate it as you like.

How to use the shooting star
- When making Christmas decorations: thread small shooting stars onto a string – and a garland sparkles above the window, bringing a little bit of sky into the room every evening.
- When crafting with children: the natural back gets decorated in bright colours – and in the end, a mobile hangs in the children's room that your child is really proud of.
- For your Christmas post: stick a small shooting star onto a homemade card – and a greeting becomes a little gift to keep.
- For gifts of money: a gold star as a tag on an envelope or jar – and the surprise feels lovingly prepared rather than quickly wrapped.
- In the shop window or at the counter: hang several sizes at staggered heights. In just a few minutes you have a winter display of golden wooden shooting stars. It draws customers in from outside.
Good to know about shooting stars
Anyone who sees a shooting star may make a wish – a custom that has been widespread in many countries for centuries. That's exactly why the motif suits occasions when you want to wish someone luck: Christmas, New Year, a birth or as a little greeting on gift wrapping.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do: simply remove dust with a dry cloth. As wood is a natural material and the back is left untreated, your shooting star will last longest in a dry indoor setting – avoid constant moisture. That way, the golden shine will last for many years and many Christmases.

Frequently asked questions
Is the shooting star suitable for crafting with children? Yes, the golden glaze meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
Is the back gold too? No, only the front is glazed. The back is natural and untreated – ideal for painting or writing on.
Where does the brown edge come from? The shooting stars are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge that neatly highlights the shape – the edges are smooth and precise.
Do all the shooting stars look exactly the same? The shape is precise, but wood is a natural material: brightness, grain and small knots vary slightly. That's exactly what makes every piece unique.
In the end, it's not about a piece of gold plywood. It's about the moment when the first garland hangs in the window, the light glints on the stars and Advent feels like home. Simply choose your size and quantity – and start creating.
