Material & finish

Each moon is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical fine brown edge. It comes from the laser cut and gives the motif a clear outline. The gold glaze is applied with care. Depending on the light, the wood grain and small knots show through. Gold wood keeps its natural look this way, and every piece is unique. Only the front is lacquered. The back is left natural and untreated. That's ideal if you want to paint it or stick things on it. The moons are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden moons
