Why this wooden puzzle piece makes a difference every day
A ready-made blank takes care of the tedious part. No sawing, no sanding, no priming the front. You can focus on the fun part: designing, decorating and giving. And because the shape is instantly recognisable as a puzzle piece, it often doesn't take much to turn it into a gift or a decoration.
Material & finish
The puzzle piece is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This creates the typical brown edge, which gives the shape a warm, handmade look. The grey glaze on the top is applied evenly and lets the wood beneath show. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots shine through. Wood is a purely natural material. Differences in shade and texture are not flaws. They make every piece unique. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the puzzle piece
- Crafting with children: each child designs their own piece. Together they make one picture that will remind everyone of the afternoon for a long time.
- As a money gift: write a personal message on the natural back and attach the note to the grey front. Your gift now carries a message: a piece that was still missing.
- For a wedding or christening: guests write their wishes on individual puzzle pieces. This builds a keepsake that the hosts will pick up again and again.
- If you want to make Christmas decorations: paint or decorate small pieces as hanging ornaments and table scatter. Stand larger ones on a sideboard or windowsill.
- In a café, shop or at the market: labelled puzzle pieces turn price tags and notices into a lovingly presented counter. They are quick to swap and always look tidy.
Good to know about puzzles
The jigsaw puzzle goes back to the London mapmaker John Spilsbury. Around 1760, he glued maps onto wood and cut them into pieces. So the puzzle was a wooden product from the very start. To this day, a single puzzle piece stands for togetherness. It shows that something only becomes complete together. That is why it works so well as a gift for a wedding or a birth, or as a personal message to someone you love.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the puzzle piece in a dry place and wipe it with a dry cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture. This keeps the wood and the grey surface looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the glaze safe to use? Yes, it meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3. It is also suitable for crafting with children.
Is the back glazed as well? No, only the front is grey glazed. The back is natural and untreated. That's ideal if you want to paint or write on it.
Where does the brown edge come from? The puzzle piece is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. The laser cut also gives smooth edges and shapes that are accurate to size.
Are the grain and knots a flaw? No. Wood is a natural material with varying shades, textures and small knots. That is exactly what makes every piece unique.
What matters is not a piece of plywood. What matters is the moment someone holds the puzzle piece you designed and realises: this was made just for me. Simply choose your size and start creating.
