Spring is just around the corner. The window still looks bare. And the Easter wreath could do with a fresh splash of colour. This is where the green wooden dragonfly comes in. It's a delicate plywood motif that you stick on, hang up or tuck into an arrangement. And your decorations come to life straight away, as if made for your spring window. Whether singly or as a set for bigger projects – you can stick the dragonfly on, hang it up or tuck it into an arrangement.

What changes for you

  • You'll find the right size for every idea. The wingspan can be chosen from 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can relax while crafting with children. The green stain meets the requirements of DIN EN 71-3.
  • Your decorations look finished straight away, without you having to pick up a brush. That's thanks to the coloured front with an evenly applied stain.
  • You can design the back exactly as you like. It is left natural and untreated, ideal for painting and decorating.
  • You work with precisely sized pieces that fit neatly together. Every dragonfly is laser-cut and has smooth edges.

Why this wooden dragonfly makes a difference every day

A window pane, a wreath or a laid table gains depth when a small nature motif catches the eye. The dragonfly brings spring into your home without being too much. It is calm and natural. Its green goes well with twigs, flowers and light wood. And because you choose the size yourself, it fits into small arrangements just as well as into large shop windows or wall decorations.

Material & finish

The dragonfly is made of 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. That's where the typical brown edge comes from, which gives the motif a fine outline. The green stain on the front is of high quality. Depending on the light, it lets the wood grain and small knots show through. That's exactly what makes it appealing. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece turns out a little different. Each dragonfly is unique – this is not a defect. The back is deliberately left natural so that you can stick things on it or paint it.

How to use the wooden dragonfly

  • During spring cleaning at the window: stick a few dragonflies in different sizes to the pane or hang them from the window frame. And spring begins both outside and in.
  • When crafting with children: let them paint the natural back. Every child designs their own dragonfly. And at the end, a small work of art hangs in the children's room.
  • On the laid table: a small dragonfly at each place setting or on the napkin. Your guests will spot the detail before the first course arrives.
  • In wreaths and arrangements: simply work them in or tuck them on top. The green stands out slightly from twigs and flowers and brings movement to the arrangement.
  • In a shop or café: large dragonflies up to 50 cm in the shop window or on the counter signal spring goods at a glance. They're quick to put up and quick to take down again.

Good to know about the dragonfly

The dragonfly has long been seen as a messenger of summer. In many cultures it stands for lightness and change. In Japan it is even a traditional symbol of good luck. That's why the motif suits not only spring and summer decorations. It also fits occasions that celebrate a new beginning.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. An occasional dry dusting is enough to keep the dragonfly looking fresh for a long time. As the back is untreated wood, it's best kept away from constant moisture. In a dry environment, the colour stays nice for years.
