Why this cardboard cutout makes a difference day to day
Crafting with children at the kitchen table, a school project on zoo animals or a themed party: with a ready-made shape you get a good result faster. And you have more time for the actual decorating. Not everyone knows the armadillo. The marked contours help even small hands colour in the shell and tail neatly.
Material & finish
The solid board in bookbinding quality feels pleasantly sturdy in your hand. It doesn't warp as easily as thin card when you paint it. The surface is smooth and untreated, so paint and glue stick well. Laser cutting leaves clean edges with the typical brown colouring. This is a visible sign of the process and shows how the cutout was made. Every armadillo is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

- For a safari or animal themed party: combine several sizes, paint them and stand them up. Your party table tells a story straight away.
- For a school project: decorated as a visual aid on the topic of zoo animals. The presentation will stick in everyone's mind.
- For weddings, birthdays, engagements or Valentine's Day: add a name or date, and the cutout becomes a personalised table decoration.
- In the shop window or at a market stall: paint large cutouts and stand them up. They're quick to set up and just as quick to redecorate when needed.
Facts about the armadillo
The name "armadillo" comes from Spanish. It roughly means "little armoured one". This refers to the distinctive shell that makes the armadillo so easy to recognise. This segmented shell also makes the shape a rewarding craft project. You can colour the segments in different colours or cover them with patterns.
Care & durability
There isn't much to look out for. Store the cutout somewhere dry and protect it from lasting moisture. Untreated cardboard doesn't like water. That way your armadillo keeps its shape for a long time. Painted or varnished surfaces stay looking good.

Frequently asked questions

How sturdy is the cutout? The solid board in bookbinding quality is 1.2 mm thick with a grammage of 755 g/m². That makes it much firmer than standard craft card.
Why are the edges brown? The brown colouring comes from laser cutting and is part of the process. It also makes the cut edges particularly clean and precise.
How tall is the armadillo at my chosen width? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 8 cm. Other sizes follow the same ratio.
Is the material sustainable? Yes. The bookbinding board is made from 100% recycled material and is processed in Germany.
