A touch of northern Germany for your home. With the Hamburg cardboard cutout, you bring the outline of the Hanseatic city to your craft table. Use it as a memento of the city on the Elbe. Or as a wedding favour with a Hamburg link. Or as wall art for your living room. The untreated bookbinding board is ready to be painted, decorated or written on. It is made for your next craft idea.

What changes for you

  • You can start painting, decorating or varnishing straight away. The board is untreated and takes paint well.
  • With the silhouette of the state of Hamburg, your decoration shows a clear link to northern Germany.
  • You will find the right size for every project. Choose any height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Your shapes look clean and even. Every cutout is laser-cut, with precise outlines and the typical brown edges.
  • You can craft with a clear conscience. The solid board is made from 100% recycled material.

Why this cardboard cutout makes a difference in everyday use

No need to cut out outlines by hand. You get a ready-made, sturdy silhouette and can focus on decorating. At the craft table with the children, when getting ready for a party or when decorating the shop counter: the shape is ready to use straight away. It looks planned, not improvised. A simple idea quickly becomes a gift tag, a wedding favour or a picture for the wall that tells stories of the Elbe.

Material & finish

The solid bookbinding board is 1.2 mm thick and weighs 755 g/m². It is pleasantly sturdy. It holds up to your projects without bending and is still easy to work with. The surface is smooth and untreated, so it reliably takes paint, varnish and glue. The brown edges come from the laser cutting and give each cutout its typical look. Every piece is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is neatly finished and made from 100 % recycled material.

How to use the Hamburg cutout

  • Crafting with children: everyone paints their own Hamburg. At the end, a small, colourful gallery of the Hanseatic city hangs on the wall.
  • For a wedding or engagement with a Hamburg link: place a labelled shape at each seat. Your guests take a memento home with them.
  • As wall art: combine several sizes or varnish one large silhouette. Your hallway shows at once where your heart is at home.
  • For a birthday or Valentine's Day: tie a small tag to the gift. The wrapping looks personal, not random.
  • In a café, shop or at the weekly market: use it to hold price tags or as counter decoration with a northern German motif. Quick to set up and easy to see for regional offers.

Good to know about Hamburg

Hamburg's official name is the "Free and Hanseatic City". As a city-state, it is both a city and a federal state. This is what makes its outline so distinctive. That is why the silhouette suits everyone with a connection to the city. Use it for guest gifts, moving-house greetings or decorations with a maritime theme.

Care & durability

There is not much to do. Store the cutout in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. The untreated board will then keep its shape and smooth surface for a long time. Once painted or varnished, the surface is protected even more.

Frequently asked questions
