We paint the raw boards in colour on both sides ourselves, in our own production in Pößneck. An additional colourless, satin-matt water-based varnish lets the grain and knots show through. Wood is a purely natural material. Lightness and texture vary from piece to piece, and small knots are part of it. This makes every heart one of a kind and is not a defect.

Are both sides painted? Yes. Every heart is colour-painted on both sides and also coated with a colourless, satin-matt water-based varnish. It looks just as good from either side.
