The heart is made of 3 mm birch plywood in our own production in Pößneck. We lacquer the raw sheets dark green on both sides ourselves. Then we laser-cut the hearts. This gives clean, precise edges without fraying. The clear satin-matt lacquer (water-based) is applied to both sides. It protects the surface and lets the wood grain show through. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, texture and small knots vary from piece to piece. This is not a flaw. It's exactly what makes every heart unique.
