We paint the raw 3 mm birch plywood sheets olive green on both sides ourselves. A clear, water-based satin lacquer on top lets the grain and knots show through. Wood is a natural material, so each heart varies a little in texture and shade. Small irregularities in the grain are not a flaw. They make every piece one of a kind.
