Material & finish

The heart is made of 3 mm birch plywood. We laser-cut it in our own production in Pößneck. That's why the edges are smooth and precise, with nothing fraying. We lacquer the raw sheets ourselves on both sides in dark walnut. On top goes a clear, satin, water-based lacquer that keeps the wood grain visible. Small knots and variations in colour are part of wood as a natural material. They aren't a flaw. They make every heart one of a kind.

Are both sides lacquered? Yes. Every heart is lacquered in dark walnut on both sides and also coated with clear, satin, water-based lacquer. So you can use it hanging freely too.

Do all hearts look exactly the same? Laser cutting makes the shape and dimensions accurate. The look of the wood varies slightly, though. Grain, shade and small knots make every heart unique.

Can I write on the heart or stick things to it? Yes. The dark brown shade works well as a base for writing on. For example, for name tags, gifts or signs.
