The cutout is made from 3 mm high-density HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. That's why the edges are smooth and clean. The board is untreated, not varnished or glazed. So it takes paint and glue well. HDF is made from compressed wood fibres, so its texture always varies. Some fibres are lighter, some darker, and small impurities may occur. This makes every piece one of a kind. It's a feature of the natural material, not a flaw.
