Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Does the wall above your desk still look a little bare? Are you looking for a colour that stands out without feeling random? With this hexagon in scarlet red painted birch plywood, you can create a honeycomb pattern, a name sign or your next DIY project. Use it on its own or cover a whole area. The strong red brings warmth and structure to the room. It's ideal for decorating your walls.
What changes for you
- You can decorate walls, signs and display areas in rich scarlet red. Each hexagon is painted on both sides and looks just as good from either side.
- You can put your idea into practice without any finishing work. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and precise shapes that fit together neatly.
- You'll find the right size for every project. You can choose any width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- Despite the colour, you're holding a real piece of nature. The clear, satin-matt water-based varnish lets the grain and small knots show through. So every hexagon is one of a kind.
- Larger projects are easy to plan too. The cutouts come singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Why this wooden hexagon makes a difference every day
A hexagon is more than a shape. It fits together with others to form a calm, orderly pattern. It gives your wall or craft table a clear line straight away. Instead of scattered decorations, you get a neat arrangement that you can extend piece by piece. And because the red sits on real wood, the grain of the birch plywood shows through. You can see that a natural material is at work here.
Material & finish
Every hexagon is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. We paint the 3 mm birch plywood boards in colour on both sides ourselves. On top goes a clear, satin-matt water-based varnish. This makes the surface pleasantly smooth to the touch, and the wood grain stays visible. The pieces are laser-cut. This gives clean, precise edges with no fraying. Slight differences in shade and grain, as well as the odd knot, are not a defect. They are the mark of a real natural material: no two cutouts are the same.

How to use the hexagon
- For the living room wall: arrange several hexagons into a honeycomb pattern. A blank space turns into a complete pattern that you can extend at any time.
- For crafting with children or DIY projects: you can work on the smooth, painted surface straight away. There's no need to sand or prime it first.
- As a base for lettering and designs: names, sayings or drawings stand out clearly on the strong red. Use it as a door sign or gift tag, for example.
- In a café, at a market stall or in shop displays: as a price tag or sign, the uniform hexagon shape gives a tidy, recognisable look. Larger sets are enough for the whole counter.
- For seasonal decorations: at Christmas or on Valentine's Day, the scarlet red suits a windowsill, a table or a shop window.
Good to know about the hexagon
The hexagon is one of the few shapes that fit together into a surface without gaps. Bees use exactly this principle for their honeycombs. That's why the hexagon works so well for honeycomb wall decorations. You can start small and let the pattern grow piece by piece later on, without any gaps.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply wipe it now and then with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid constant moisture, as wood is a natural material. That way the colour and satin-matt surface will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the hexagon really painted on both sides? Yes, both sides are painted scarlet red and finished with a clear, satin-matt water-based varnish. So you can display either side.
Can you still see the wood grain? Yes, the satin-matt varnish lets the grain and small knots show. These natural features make every piece one of a kind.
How does the height relate to the width I choose? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the hexagon is approx. 8.7 cm high. This ratio helps you plan your pattern.
Can I write or paint on the hexagon? Yes, the smooth, painted surface makes a good base for lettering and designs. It works well for signs or personalised gifts, for example.
A plywood hexagon is only the starting point. What counts is the moment you step back and your wall suddenly looks as if it was always meant to be that way. Just choose your width and quantity – and start laying out your pattern.
