Every hexagon is laser-cut from 3 mm birch plywood. This gives clean, smooth edges and accurate shapes that fit together without gaps. At Bütic, we lacquer the raw sheets ourselves on both sides. The water-based satin lacquer keeps the grain and knots visible. Wood is a purely natural material. Some pieces are lighter, some darker, and the grain may show small irregularities. That is not a flaw. It is exactly what makes each piece unique. Everything is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
