The hexagon is made of 3 mm birch plywood in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. We cut the hexagons using a laser. This gives smooth edges and a clean, precise finish. We lacquer the raw boards ourselves on both sides in the mahogany shade. The clear, water-based satin lacquer leaves the grain and knots visible. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness and texture vary from piece to piece, and small irregularities in the grain are normal. That is exactly what makes each hexagon one of a kind. It isn't a flaw, it's character.
