Why this wooden puzzle piece makes a difference in everyday life
A puzzle piece tells a little story all by itself: the missing piece, sticking together, belonging. As a money gift, name sign or wall decoration, it carries this message without many words. And because the shape is so clear, it works just as well in a child's bedroom as on a festive table.
Material & finish
The puzzle piece is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck. This gives it smooth, accurate edges with the typical brown laser edge. The edge draws a fine outline around the shape. The front has a light blue glaze. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots show through the glaze. This is not a flaw. It is what makes a natural material one of a kind. The back is left natural and untreated, so you can paint it or stick things on it as you like.

How to use the puzzle piece
- For crafting money gifts: stick on a note, add a name. The gift looks thoughtful rather than awkward.
- For crafting with children: each child designs their own piece. At the end, all the pieces together make one picture. A project for nursery, school or a children's birthday party.
- As a Mother's Day or Father's Day gift: a large piece with a photo or message stuck on says "You are my missing piece" without many words.
- For wedding or christening decorations: write guests' names on several pieces to make place cards. Guests can take them home afterwards as a keepsake.
- In a café, shop or at the weekly market: with writing on it, the puzzle piece works as a price tag or sign. It gives your counter a consistent, lovingly presented look. And you can quickly reorder when needed, individually and in the right size.
Good to know about puzzles
The first jigsaw puzzles were made around 1760 in London. The map seller John Spilsbury cut up maps mounted on wood so that children could learn geography through play. So the puzzle was a wooden product right from the start. Today a single puzzle piece stands for sticking together and belonging. That's why it suits gifts for weddings, births, farewells to colleagues or group projects so well.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do: simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. Only the front is glazed and the back is untreated. So the puzzle piece is best kept in dry indoor rooms. Avoid constant moisture, and it will keep its even colour and shape for a long time.
