Why this wooden puzzle piece makes a difference every day
A ready-made cutout takes the hardest work off your hands. Instead of sawing and filing, you go straight to the fun part: designing, decorating, giving. The strong red stands out right away. That works on the wall, on a gift or as part of a larger decoration. And because the shape is familiar, everyone understands the message straight away: something fits together here.
Material & finish
The puzzle piece is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That's why it has smooth edges with the typical brown rim, which gives the cutout a handcrafted look. The red glaze is applied opaquely. Depending on the light, the grain and small knots still show through. This is not a flaw. It's the nature of a natural material: every piece turns out a little differently and is one of a kind. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The finish is clean, and you can rely on it.

How to use the wooden puzzle piece
- Crafting with children: each child decorates the natural back with pens or finger paints. In the end, a colourful group picture made of many single pieces hangs on the wall.
- For money gifts: stick the note to the puzzle piece and write “Das fehlende Teil zu deinem Wunsch” next to it. Your gift then has a story instead of just an envelope.
- For a wedding or christening: guests sign large puzzle pieces. The couple takes home a keepsake that stays on display for a long time.
- As DIY Christmas decorations: small red puzzle pieces on a branch or a gift ribbon bring colour to Advent. It takes very little effort.
- In a shop or café: use labelled puzzle pieces on the counter or in the window to show offers and team notes. Customers notice them as they walk past. They're quick to set up and you can rearrange them again and again.
Good to know about puzzles
The puzzle goes back to the London mapmaker John Spilsbury. Around 1760, he cut maps mounted on wood into pieces so that children could learn geography through play. To this day, a single puzzle piece stands for the idea that something is only complete together. That's why the cutout works so well as a gift for couples, families, teams and colleagues.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Simply wipe it with a dry cloth when needed. As the back is untreated, keep the cutout away from constant moisture. That way, colour and shape stay looking good for a long time.
