The clipboard is made from 3mm birch plywood. Despite its slim thickness, this material is very stable and robust. It is also pleasantly light in the hand. Two coats of water-based clear varnish protect the surface in daily use. The wood grain still shows through. Wood is a natural material, so shade, grain and small knots vary slightly from board to board. That makes every piece one of a kind. Your clipboard is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is neatly finished right down to the rounded edge.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made by gluing several thin layers of wood crosswise. This makes the material much more dimensionally stable than solid wood of the same thickness. It hardly warps. That's why just 3mm is enough here for a firm, rigid writing surface. It is still light enough to hold in your hand all day.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Thanks to the double clear varnish seal, simply wipe the board with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture and harsh cleaners. That way your clipboard keeps its warm, reddish-brown surface for many years.

Does every clipboard look the same? No. Wood is a natural material. Shade and grain vary slightly, and small knots are normal. This makes every board one of a kind.

Can I choose the direction of the grain? Yes, by arrangement. As standard, the grain may run horizontally or vertically. If you'd like a particular direction, just send us a short message with your order.

Which clip is right for me? You can choose between a metal spring clip and a wire clip in 8 colours. Some versions are optionally available with a pen holder, so your pen is always to hand.

How tough is the surface? The board is sealed twice with a tough water-based clear varnish. It's made for daily use as a writing board in offices, restaurants and at home.
