Material & finish

The clipboard is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is cut from 3 mm birch plywood, which is very stable and sturdy yet light in the hand. The surface is sealed with two coats of durable water-based clear varnish. It is smooth, pleasant to write on and resistant to daily use. Wood is a natural material. Small differences in shade and grain and fine knots are normal and make every piece one of a kind. The grain can run horizontally or vertically. Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made of several layers of veneer glued crosswise. This makes it very dimensionally stable. It warps much less than a plain solid wood board of the same thickness. That is exactly why it works so well for a clipboard. The writing surface stays flat and reliable, even with daily use.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Thanks to the two coats of clear varnish, simply wipe the clipboard with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid soaking it or leaving it damp for long. That way the surface stays smooth and well kept for a long time.

Can the grain on my clipboard run differently from the picture? Yes. To avoid unnecessary offcuts, the grain can run horizontally or vertically, whatever format you order. A preferred direction is possible after a quick chat. Just send us a message.

Is the surface coated? Yes. The birch plywood is sealed with two coats of durable water-based clear varnish. It is smooth, wipeable and ready for everyday use.
