Material & finish

The clipboard is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is cut from 3 mm birch plywood, which is very sturdy and robust despite its slim build. The surface is sealed with two coats of durable water-based clear varnish. It feels smooth, lets your pen glide cleanly over the paper and stands up well to everyday use. Wood is a natural material. Variations in shade, small knots and changing grain patterns are part of it. That makes every board one of a kind. The grain can run horizontally or vertically, regardless of the format you order. Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made from several thin layers of wood, glued together with the grain running crosswise. This means it hardly warps. It is also much sturdier than its slim thickness suggests. That's why this clipboard, at just 3 mm, feels so light in your hand. It still gives you a reliably firm writing surface.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Simply wipe the varnished surface with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid soaking it and don't use harsh cleaners. That way the wood keeps its smooth, well-kept look for a long time.

Can the grain on my clipboard run differently from the picture? Yes. To reduce waste, the grain can run horizontally or vertically, regardless of the format you order. A preferred direction is possible by arrangement. Just send us a message.

How sturdy is the board at just 3 mm thick? Birch plywood is made of crosswise-glued layers, which makes it very sturdy and robust. It gives you a firm surface for writing standing up and on the go.
