Material & finish

The clipboard is made in our own Bütic production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is made from 3 mm birch plywood, which is very sturdy and robust despite its slim build. The rum-coloured surface is smooth. It is sealed twice with water-based clear lacquer so it stands up to daily use for a long time. Wood is a purely natural material. Differences in shade, small knots and fine irregularities in the grain are normal and not a defect. They make every board one of a kind. The grain can run horizontally or vertically, as we optimise our cutouts. A preferred direction is possible after a quick chat with us.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made of several layers of veneer glued crosswise. This makes it more stable and less prone to warping than a solid wood board of the same thickness. That is why birch plywood works so well for a clipboard. At only 3 mm thick, it stays light in your hand. It still gives you a firm, flat writing surface.

Care & durability

There is not much you need to do. Simply wipe the board with a dry or slightly damp cloth when needed. The clear lacquer seal protects the surface in everyday use. Avoid constant moisture and harsh cleaning products. Your wooden clipboard will then keep its neat look for a long time.
