The clipboard is made in our own production in Pößneck from 3 mm birch plywood. This makes it light to carry and at the same time very sturdy and robust. Two coats of water-based clear varnish protect the light green surface in daily use. They also let your pen glide cleanly as you write. Wood is a natural material. Small knots, varying shades and a lively grain are part of it and make every piece unique. This is not a flaw, but real character.
