The clipboard is made from 3 mm birch plywood. It is thin enough to feel light in your hand, yet very stable and robust. The surface is sealed twice with a durable water-based clear lacquer. This keeps the chestnut shade even over time, and the surface is pleasant to write on. Every board is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, with careful workmanship. Wood is a purely natural material. Small differences in the grain, fine knots and variations in colour are normal. They make every piece unique – not a flaw, but real material.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made by gluing several thin layers of wood crosswise. This makes the board much more dimensionally stable and less prone to warping than an equally thin board of solid wood. That's why this clipboard can stay so light at just 3 mm thick. It still stands up to daily use in catering, in the office and on the go.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Simply wipe the twice-lacquered surface with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid prolonged wetness and harsh cleaning agents. That way, the wooden clipboard keeps its warm chestnut shade and smooth surface for a long time.

Can the direction of the grain vary? Yes. We optimise our cutouts to avoid unnecessary waste. The grain may therefore run horizontally or vertically, regardless of the format you order. A preferred direction is possible by arrangement. Just send us a short message.

Does every clipboard look the same? Not quite. Wood is a natural material with different shades, fine textures and small knots. That's exactly what makes every board unique.

Which clip is right for me? You can choose between a metal spring clip and a wire clip, in eight colours. Some versions are optionally available with a pen holder, so your pen is always close at hand.

Is the board sturdy enough for daily use? Yes. The 3 mm birch plywood is very stable and robust. The double clear lacquer coating protects the surface during use.
