Material & finish

The clipboard is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is cut from 3 mm birch plywood, which is very stable and resists twisting despite being so thin. The surface is sealed with two coats of tough water-based clear varnish and is smooth. Your pen glides cleanly over the paper, and the board keeps looking good for a long time. The rounded corners of the segment shape sit comfortably in your hand. Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from board to board. This makes every piece one of a kind – it is not a defect.

How to use the clipboard

Good to know about the clipboard

Plywood is made of several layers of wood glued crosswise. This makes it much more dimensionally stable than a solid wood board of the same thickness. That is why this clipboard only needs to be 3 mm thick. It stays light in your hand and still does not warp in daily use.

Care & durability

There is not much you need to do. Thanks to the clear varnish, simply wipe the board with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid prolonged moisture and harsh cleaners. That way the surface stays smooth and well-kept for a long time.

Can I write directly on the board? You write on the clipped-in paper. The smooth varnished wooden surface underneath works as a firm writing board, even without a table.

Which way does the grain run? The grain may run horizontally or vertically, regardless of the format you order, as we optimise our cutouts to avoid waste. A preferred direction is possible by arrangement – just send us a short message.

Why does every clipboard look slightly different? Wood is a natural material. Differences in brightness, fine patterns in the grain and small knots are normal. They make every board one of a kind.

Which clip is right for me? You can choose between a metal spring clip and a wire clip. Some options are available with a pen holder, so your pen is always within reach.
