Material & finish

The clipboard is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It's cut from 3 mm birch plywood, which is very sturdy and robust despite being so slim. The segment shape with rounded corners sits comfortably in your hand. The surface is smooth and sealed with two coats of water-based clear lacquer. This keeps it hard-wearing in daily use. Wood is a purely natural material. The grain can be lighter or darker, and small knots may appear. That makes every board one of a kind – not a flaw, but character.

Good to know about the clipboard

A board just 3 mm thin is this strong because it's plywood. Several layers of veneer are glued together crosswise. As a result, the material warps far less than a single solid wood board of the same thickness. For you, that means a light, flat writing board. It keeps its shape even with daily use in the office or in hospitality.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Thanks to the clear lacquer finish, a slightly damp cloth is enough to wipe it clean. Avoid prolonged wetness and harsh cleaning products. That way the surface keeps its even walnut tone for a long time.

Which way does the grain run? The grain may run horizontally or vertically, regardless of the size you order – we optimise our cutouts to avoid waste. A preferred direction is possible by arrangement; just send us a short message.

Does every clipboard look the same? No – wood is a natural material with varying shades, fine textures and the occasional small knot. This makes every board one of a kind.

Which clips can I choose from? You can choose between a metal spring clip and a wire clip in eight colours. Some versions are available with an optional pen holder.

Can the surface be wiped clean? Yes. The board has two coats of hard-wearing water-based clear lacquer and can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth.
