Material & finish

The clipboard is made in our own production in Pößneck from 3 mm birch plywood. Despite its low thickness, this material is very stable and sturdy. The surface is sealed twice with a durable water-based clear varnish. This makes it feel smooth, and it stands up well to daily use. Wood is a natural material. Small differences in shade and grain, as well as the occasional knot, are part of it. They make every piece unique and are not a defect. The grain can run horizontally or vertically. Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood consists of several veneer layers glued crosswise. This makes it much more dimensionally stable than a solid wood board of the same thickness. That's why a thickness of just 3 mm is enough for the clipboard. It stays light in your hand and still gives you a firm writing surface that doesn't bend.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Thanks to the double clear varnish seal, simply wipe the clipboard with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid prolonged wetness and harsh cleaners. That way, the black surface keeps looking well cared for.

Why does the grain look a little different on every board? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. This makes every clipboard unique.

Can I choose the direction of the grain? Yes, by arrangement. As standard, the grain can run horizontally or vertically. We optimise our cutouts to avoid waste. Just send us a short message with your request.

Which clip is right for me? The metal spring clip grips firmly and also holds thicker stacks of paper. The wire clip is flatter and more discreet. Some versions are optionally available with a pen holder, so your pen is always to hand.

Is the surface good to write on? The birch plywood is sealed twice with a durable water-based clear varnish. The smooth, firm surface works well as a writing base for everyday use.
