The board is made from 3 mm birch plywood. It's thin enough to stay light. Thanks to its layered structure, it's still very stable and robust. The brown teak surface is sealed with two coats of durable water-based clear varnish. The corners are rounded and neatly finished. Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from board to board. This isn't a flaw – it's what makes every piece unique. Your clipboard is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Good to know about birch plywood

Plywood is made by gluing thin layers of wood crosswise. This means the material hardly warps. It stays stable even at just 3 mm thick. That's exactly why it works so well for a clipboard. It's light to carry and still gives you a firm, flat surface to write on.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Thanks to the two coats of clear varnish, simply wipe the board with a slightly damp cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture and harsh cleaning products. That way the surface stays smooth and well-kept for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Is the clipboard made from solid teak? No. The board is made from 3 mm birch plywood and has a brown teak finish sealed with clear varnish. So you get the warm teak look with low weight and high stability.

Which way does the grain run? The grain may run horizontally or vertically, regardless of whether you order portrait or landscape, as we optimise our cutouts to avoid waste. A preferred direction is possible by arrangement – just send us a short message.

Why does my board look slightly different from the photo? Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary. That's exactly what makes your clipboard unique.

Which clip is right for me? The metal spring clip grips firmly and holds even thicker stacks of paper. The wire clip is flatter and more discreet. Some versions are available with an optional pen holder, so your pen is always close to hand.

Can I hang up the clipboard? Yes. Two eyelets at the top left and right are already fitted. Simply hang the board on a hook or nail.
