Why this 6-pointed star makes a difference in everyday life
A good blank does the hardest part for you: the clean cutting. Instead of struggling with a fretsaw and sandpaper, you can go straight to the fun part – decorating. In a short time you can make window decorations, tree ornaments or small gift tags that look as if they took hours. And because all the stars have the same shape, a whole garland or a fully decorated window looks consistent.
Material & finish
The stars are made of 3 mm thick MDF or HDF. These are high-density wood fibre boards. They keep their shape and don't warp like thin solid wood. The edges are laser-cut and therefore smooth. Laser cutting leaves the typical brown edge on each star. The material is unfinished, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. That's why paint, glue and oil stick reliably. As a natural material, the fibres show lighter and darker patterns and may have small blemishes. This makes every piece one of a kind. Made in Thuringia, Germany.

How to use the MDF star
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own star. In the end, a colourful collection hangs on the tree that everyone is proud of.
- For an Advent calendar: number 24 small stars and hang them on a string. A homemade calendar you can use again every year.
- On Christmas cards and presents: a small star as a tag or glued-on motif turns a simple card into something people keep.
- For model making and decoration projects: the cutouts keep their shape and can be sawn, glued and worked further. From a nativity scene to a door wreath.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: large stars, painted or lettered, in the shop window and on the counter. Seasonal decorations that are quick to set up. With set sizes of 10, 25, 50 or 100, there are enough for several branches.
Good to know about the star
The star is one of the oldest symbols of Christmas. As the Star of Bethlehem, it shows the way to the manger in the Christmas story. That's why the 6-pointed star works not only as a tree ornament and window decoration. It also suits nativity scenes, Advent bazaars and anything you want to make for the Advent season.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the unfinished stars in a dry place and they will keep their shape and stay ready to use for many years. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the stars outdoors, an opaque coat of paint or a sealant protects the surface.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the star or glue things onto it? Yes. The MDF/HDF is unfinished and can be coated, painted, glued or oiled. Paint and glue stick well to the untreated surface.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The stars are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim. The edges are smooth and don't need sanding.
Do all the stars look exactly the same? The shape is identical, the surface isn't. Wood fibres vary in shade and may show small blemishes. This isn't a defect. It makes every star one of a kind.
How does the width relate to the height? At a chosen height of 10 cm, the width is approx. 11.5 cm. Other sizes scale accordingly.
Is the star suitable for outdoor use? Unfinished, it should be kept dry. With an opaque coat of paint or a sealant, you can also use it outdoors in a sheltered spot.
A wooden cutout is only the start. Think of the afternoon when the kitchen table is covered in paint. And of the evening when homemade stars hang in the window. Just choose your height and set size – and get started.
