Why this MDF triangle makes a difference in everyday use
If you enjoy crafting, you'll know this: the idea is there, but cutting takes time and rarely turns out even. With a ready-made, cleanly laser-cut shape, you start right at the fun part – the decorating. Every triangle has the same clear outline. So garlands, hanging decorations and window decorations look uniform rather than thrown together.
Material & finish
The triangle is made from 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is laser-cut in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This gives smooth edges and a clean finish. The board is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. That way you decide whether to paint it, cover it with paper or leave it natural. As a pressed natural material, the wood fibres show lighter and darker patches and occasionally small irregularities. This is not a defect. It is what makes every piece unique. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the MDF triangle
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own triangle. In the end, a colourful string of bunting hangs in the children's room, and everyone is proud of it.
- Making Christmas decorations: paint several triangles in shades of green and arrange them one above the other. Now a little fir tree decorates your window or door.
- Making money gifts: attach a triangle with a message to the gift as a tag. Your personal message is the first thing they see.
- Making an Advent calendar: number 24 small triangles and tie them to a string. Now you have a calendar that brings joy again every year.
- In a café, farm shop or at a market stall: use lettered triangles as bunting or as signs at the counter. Your goods are presented with care, and setting up is quick.
- In model making: use it as a ready-cut base shape or component. No need to saw or sand it yourself.
Good to know about MDF and HDF
HDF is made from finely pressed wood fibres. Unlike solid wood, it therefore has no continuous grain running in one direction. That is why the surface takes paint evenly. The edges don't splinter either. For anyone who wants to paint, print or glue, this material has been the first choice for crafts and decorating for decades.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated triangles dry, as natural fibreboard doesn't like constant moisture. If you paint or varnish them, you also get a more durable surface. That way your decorations stay looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the triangle already varnished or treated? No, the HDF/MDF board is left natural. You can paint, stick, stamp or coat it straight away.
Can I hang the triangle up? Yes, the two holes, each 3 mm in diameter, are suitable for threading string or ribbon – for garlands and hanging decorations, for example.
How tall is the triangle at a given width? As a reference: at 10 cm wide, the height is approx. 8.9 cm. The other sizes are in proportion.
Why are some areas lighter than others? The pressed wood fibres vary in shade and can show small irregularities. This is typical of the natural material and makes every piece unique.
Can I order larger quantities? Yes, you can get the triangle singly or as a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100. This is useful for group projects, nurseries or shop decorations.
A few plain triangles can become a garland in a single afternoon. It will remind you of that afternoon for a long time. Just choose your width and quantity and get started.
