Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is set and the paints are ready. Today you and the kids finally want to make the garland for the children's room. This MDF wooden triangle with rounded corners and three holes is made for exactly that. It is a clear shape for crafting, painting and hanging up. You design it just the way you need it. A stack of blanks turns into your very own decorations.
What changes for you
- You can hang up your garland, bunting or Christmas decorations straight away, without drilling. The three pre-cut holes are 3 mm in diameter.
- Paint it, decorate it with paper or stamp it – the triangle is yours to design as you like. The HDF is untreated, so paint, glue and varnish adhere well.
- There is no sanding to do, so you can start right away. Laser cutting gives smooth edges all round.
- You will find the right size for every project, from a small tag to a large wall sign. Choose a width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- Craft with children, in a group or for selling, without constantly reordering. Available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this MDF triangle makes a difference in everyday use
Ready-made decorations look the same for everyone. A blank becomes your own piece. You choose the colour, the lettering and the occasion. In the end, something hangs on your wall or on a branch that exists only once. When crafting with children, the clean, uniform basic shape saves you a lot of preparation. You hand out the triangles, and everyone can start designing straight away.
Material & finish
The triangle is made from 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard and is laser cut. This gives you a smooth edge without frayed corners. It feels pleasant to the touch and is easy to paint neatly. The surface is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. That makes it ideal for painting, gluing or writing on. As a pressed natural material, the wood fibres show lighter and darker patterns and may have small blemishes. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind. Every triangle is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the MDF triangle
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own triangle as a tree or the tip of a star. At the end, your shared Christmas decorations hang in the window for everyone to see.
- For a homemade Advent calendar: thread 24 numbered triangles onto a string. The anticipation starts as soon as you hang it up.
- As bunting for a birthday or the children's room: write on the triangles, thread them through the holes, done. A garland that comes out again every year.
- For gifts of money: paint the triangle, write on it and attach the note. That turns a plain envelope into a small keepsake.
- In model making or for signs: the consistent, laser-cut shape gives you a reliable base for clean results.
- In a café, at the weekly market or in a shop: use them as tags you can write on for prices and variety labels. They are quick to design and look uniform. When needed, you can reorder them in sets of 50 or 100.
Good to know about the HDF triangle
Unlike solid wood, HDF has no grain. The surface is evenly dense. For you, this means paints and varnishes cover evenly, with no wood streaks showing through. That is why many people choose MDF blanks on purpose for painting and decoupage.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Store the untreated triangles in a dry place and keep them away from constant moisture. As pressed fibreboard, they do not like standing water. Once painted or varnished, your decorations will last a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the triangle already treated or varnished? No, the HDF is left natural. You can paint, glue, stamp or varnish it straight away.
How big are the holes? All three holes are 3 mm in diameter. They fit cords, ribbons or thin wire.
How tall is the triangle at a given width? As a guide: at 10 cm wide, the height is approx. 8.9 cm. The other sizes scale accordingly.
Why don't all the surfaces look exactly the same? HDF boards are made of pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small impurities. That is exactly what makes each piece unique.
A piece of HDF is just the start. Spend an afternoon turning simple blanks into your own garland or Advent calendar. Or make a lovingly designed gift. Simply choose your size and quantity – and get started.
