Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The Advent wreath is ready. The children are already at the table with their brushes. And you're still looking for a motif that brings a wintry feel into the house. This spruce cone made of HDF is just right for your crafting afternoon. It has a clear cone shape with engraved outlines. You can paint it, decorate it or simply hang it up as it is. That's how a single piece of fibreboard becomes your very own Christmas decoration.
What changes for you
- You can start straight away, with no sanding or finishing. The cone is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- Your decoration fits exactly where you want it, from a small hanging ornament to a large shop window motif. You can choose any height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You design it just the way you like: painted, decorated or left natural. The HDF is untreated, so it takes paint and glue well.
- When crafting with children, you don't need to draw anything first. The outlines of the cone are already laser-scored into the surface and give clear guidance.
- You can kit out larger projects in one go. Order the cone individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this spruce cone makes a difference every day
Ready-made winter decorations often look the same everywhere. With a cone-shaped blank, you decide for yourself. Maybe a natural motif hangs in the window. Maybe a golden cone sits on the wreath. Or a whole row of hand-painted cones lines your shop window. The result is Christmas decoration that belongs to your home or your shop – not to a supermarket shelf.
Material & finish
The cone is made of 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough for hanging, standing up and model making. It is also easy to paint and decorate. Laser cutting gives clean, smooth edges. The outlines are finely scored and trace the shape of the cone. The board is untreated, not varnished or glazed. So your paints stick to it directly. Good to know: fibreboard always shows different textures. Some fibres are lighter or darker, and small irregularities can occur. That makes every piece one of a kind. Each cone is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. That makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.

How to use the spruce cone
- On an Advent Sunday with the children: everyone paints their own cone. By the evening, your homemade Christmas decorations are hanging in the window.
- When making Christmas decorations for a wreath: tuck small cones of 5 to 10 cm in between. Your door wreath then has a motif no one else has.
- In model making: the flat 3 mm shape fits into dioramas and scenes without adding bulk.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: a large cone of up to 50 cm in the shop window draws attention. With a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100, you can decorate your counter and display in a matching style, all in one go.
- As a gift tag: a small cone with writing on it, tied to a parcel. The present looks lovingly made before it's even unwrapped.
Good to know about the spruce cone
By the way, the cones you pick up from the forest floor are almost always spruce cones. Real fir cones break apart on the tree and never fall down whole. So the spruce gives us the classic cone shape we all link with winter and Christmas. That is exactly why this motif works so reliably in the window, on the wreath and in shop window displays.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Because the HDF is untreated, it lasts for many years if you store it somewhere dry, from one season to the next. Protect it from constant damp and wet. Then the surface stays smooth and the shape stays stable. Once painted or varnished, the cone has extra protection.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the cone? Yes. The HDF is untreated and takes paint and glue directly. You can paint, stick things on or decorate it without any pre-treatment.
Are the edges smooth? Yes. The cone is laser-cut, which gives it clean, smooth edges. There's no need to sand them.
Why does each cone look slightly different? Fibreboard always has varying textures. The fibres differ in shade, and small irregularities can occur. This is not a defect. It makes every piece unique.
How wide is the cone? The width depends on the height you choose. For example, at a height of 10 cm it is 5 cm wide.
Is the cone suitable for outdoor use? The HDF is untreated and should be protected from constant damp. It is well suited to sheltered spots and indoor use.
What you get is a piece of fibreboard in the shape of a cone. What you make of it is up to you: an afternoon where brushes, paint and a few blanks turn into your own winter decorations – and a window where they hang all through December. Just choose your height and quantity, and you design the rest.
