Why this bat silhouette makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made Halloween decorations often look the same everywhere. With an unfinished blank, you decide for yourself. Go jet black for the classic vampire look, paint it in bright colours with the kids or keep it natural. Crafting together becomes a shared moment. And in the end, something hangs in your window that exists nowhere else.
Material & finish
The bat is laser-cut from 3 mm MDF or HDF. These are high-density fibreboards. They keep their shape and have a smooth surface for painting. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges. It also leaves the typical, finely browned edge that gives the silhouette extra definition. Wood fibre is a natural material. So the surfaces vary in shade and can show small irregularities. This makes every piece one of a kind. It is not a defect.

How to use the MDF bat
- Crafting with children: get out the brushes and put the paints on the table. Each child designs their own bat, which then hangs proudly in the window.
- As Halloween decoration: spread several silhouettes across windows and walls. Your home will feel spooky the moment you walk in.
- Our tip for the classic look: Paint the bat black and thread several together into a garland. This creates the typical vampire motif for windows, walls or the party room.
- In model making: the silhouette fits into dioramas and landscapes as a detail. It brings the scene to life with little effort.
- For cafés, bakeries or shops: with a set of 25 or 50 pieces, you can decorate your counter and shop window quickly and uniformly. No lengthy preparation needed.
Good to know about bats
The bat has always been one of the classic Halloween motifs. As a nocturnal animal, it stands for the mysterious, dark time of year. In China, however, it is a symbol of luck. There, the word for bat sounds just like the word for luck. So you can use the silhouette for your Halloween party. You can also give it as a small lucky charm.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. The material is unfinished, so protect it from constant moisture. If you want to use the bat outdoors, seal it first with paint, varnish or oil. This way the silhouette keeps its shape for a long time and you can enjoy it for many years.

Frequently asked questions
Is the bat already coloured? No, it comes to you unfinished in its natural state. So you can paint it, decorate it, coat it or oil it, just as you like.
How tall is the bat at my chosen width? As a reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 4 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.
Why is the edge brownish? The silhouette is laser-cut. The fine brown edge is typical of this process. It also ensures smooth, clean edges.
Can the material vary? Yes. HDF is made of pressed wood fibres. These can vary in shade and show small impurities. This is a natural feature that makes every piece unique.
Is the silhouette suitable for outdoors? Unfinished, it is intended for indoor use. For outdoor use, protect it from moisture first with varnish, paint or oil.
A wooden cutout is only the start. What counts is the afternoon you spend together at the kitchen table with the brushes going. And in the evening, the first bat you made yourself hangs in the window. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
