The leaves are falling and the evenings are getting darker. And you feel like decorating your home for Halloween. This ghost made of 3 mm HDF brings a motif into your home that you can design however you like. Paint it, decorate it with stickers or paper, hang it up. It's a blank made for your crafting afternoon. Use it as a small hanging decoration or as a large wall figure.

What changes for you

  • You design your Halloween decorations in exactly your style. The HDF is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things onto it or stamp it.
  • You'll find the right size for every idea. You can choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can get straight to work with no finishing needed. The cutout is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
  • You can craft with children in a relaxed way. The light, clean material is easy to hold and can be decorated without tools.
  • You can decorate larger areas or whole rooms in one go. Choose sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.

Why this MDF ghost makes a difference in everyday life

Shop-bought decorations look the same in every home. A ghost you've designed yourself tells your story. Put it in the window, on a garland or on the laid table. The shape brings a playful autumn mood into the room without being too much. You choose the size and design yourself. So everything fits together, from the children's room to the front door.

Material & finish

The ghost is laser-cut from a 3 mm HDF/MDF fibreboard. This gives a clean outline and smooth edges that don't splinter. The surface is untreated. It is neither varnished nor glazed, so it takes paint and glue reliably. Fibreboard is made from pressed wood fibres. So the fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece unique and is not a defect. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays stable even when thin.

How to use the ghost

  • Crafting with children on an autumn afternoon: each child paints their own ghost. By the evening, a Halloween garland made by your family hangs in the hallway.
  • As a window decoration at Halloween: put a few ghosts of different sizes in the window. Your home greets the neighbours with a wink.
  • On the table for a spooky party: place a small ghost at every seat. Your guests have something to smile about before the first bite.
  • For model making or any kind of decoration: you can decorate, cover and combine the flat cutout. A blank becomes your very own project.
  • For cafés, bakeries or shops: with a set of 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can decorate counters and shop windows quickly and uniformly. There's no need to gather individual pieces.

Good to know about the ghost

The custom of surrounding yourself with ghost figures at Halloween goes back to the Celtic festival of Samhain. People believed the boundary to the spirit world was especially thin at that time. The friendly ghost has long since become a classic of Halloween decoration. That's why it suits a children's party as well as an autumn shop window.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated HDF in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. Then it keeps its shape and you can decorate it anew year after year. A dry cloth is all you need to dust it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the ghost or glue things onto it? Yes. The HDF comes in its natural state, so it is untreated. You can paint it, colour it and glue things onto it.

Why don't all the surfaces look the same? HDF boards are made of pressed wood fibres. These vary in shade and may show small impurities. This is typical of the material and makes every piece unique.

How tall is the ghost at a particular width? The height depends on the width. At a width of 10 cm, it is approx. 8.6 cm. This ratio applies to all sizes accordingly.

Do I need to sand the edges? No. The cutout is laser-cut and has smooth edges. You can start decorating straight away.

What really counts isn't a wooden cutout. It's the moment when your hand-painted ghosts hang in the window and you realise: this is what Halloween looks like at our place. Simply choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
