The silhouette is made of 3 mm thick HDF/MDF fibreboard. It is sturdy enough to stand up, hang and decorate, yet easy to work with. Laser cutting gives smooth edges that don't fray or splinter. The surface is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. That makes it an ideal base for painting and gluing. Good to know: fibreboard always shows different textures. The fibres can be lighter or darker and may have small irregularities. This makes every piece unique. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. HDF is a fibreboard like MDF, only more densely compressed. This makes it harder, and it stays sturdy even when thin.
