The fair opens in an hour and the grill stand is set up. All that's missing now is a sign that shows from a distance what's on offer. This roast chicken made of HDF is just right for that. It's a clear rotisserie chicken silhouette as a wooden cutout. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply leave it natural. Use it at a food truck, at a market stall or as a craft motif at home. The chicken shows your theme at a glance.

What changes for you

  • You design the motif exactly the way you like. The HDF is untreated, so you can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or decorate it.
  • Your sign or decoration looks finished straight away. The laser-cut edges have the typical brown rim, which frames the silhouette.
  • You don't need to draw anything first. The outlines of the roast chicken are already laser-scored. They give you a clear template for colouring in.
  • You'll find exactly the size you need. The wooden cutout is available from 5 cm to 50 cm wide in 1 cm steps. That covers everything from a small table scatter piece to a large counter sign.
  • You can kit out larger projects in one go. Choose sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces for craft groups, buffet decorations or your sales stall.

Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day

A hand-painted wood fibre shape feels warmer and more genuine than a printed plastic sign. Your guests and customers notice that. At the grill stand, everyone sees right away what it's about. When crafting at home, you hold a clean shape that defines the result from the start. That way, a simple silhouette becomes a small piece of design that suits you.

Material & finish

The roast chicken is made of 3 mm MDF or HDF. This is high-density wood fibre. It keeps its shape and takes paint evenly. The cutout is laser-cut, so it has smooth edges and the characteristic brown rim. Wood fibre is a natural material. The fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece unique and is not a defect. The cutout is carefully made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the roast chicken

  • At a food truck or grill station: Put a large painted roast chicken next to your price board. Passers-by will know at first glance what smells so good at your stand.
  • At a fair or weekly market: Spread several shapes around your stall. Your goods look lovingly presented without much decorating effort.
  • Crafting with children: Each child gets a chicken to colour in along the scored outlines. At the end, every child has their own little work of art.
  • In model making: Small sizes from 5 cm add a true-to-life detail to a miniature food stall or fairground. It brings the scene to life.
  • As party decoration: For a barbecue evening or an Oktoberfest theme, place a Wiesnhendl at every seat. Your guests will have something to smile about before the food arrives.

Good to know about the Broiler

"Broiler" comes from the English "to broil" (to grill or roast). In the GDR it was the usual word for roast chicken. In many parts of eastern Germany the word is still in common use today. In the south, people tend to say Grillhendl or Backhendl. That's why the shape works so well as signage. Everyone understands it instantly, and for many it brings back familiar memories.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the untreated cutout in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. Then the wood fibre keeps its shape for a long time. A coat of paint or a layer of oil seals the surface. This makes your shape more resistant in everyday use.

Frequently asked questions

Is the roast chicken already painted? No, the cutout comes in its natural form. It is untreated, not varnished or glazed. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or draw on it as you like.

Why are the edges brown? The shape is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, which clearly outlines the silhouette. The edges are cut smooth.

How tall is the shape at my chosen width? As a guide: at 10 cm wide, the height is 9.5 cm. The proportions stay the same across all sizes.

Why do the cutouts look slightly different? HDF is made of pressed wood fibres, a natural material. The fibres vary in shade and may show small irregularities. This makes every piece unique.

This wooden cutout is made for one moment. It's when your stall can be spotted from a distance. Or when your hand-painted chicken opens the barbecue evening. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
